Unfortunately, we are unable to sell Encyclopedias and condensed Reader's Digests and would gladly accept current or less than a year old magazines. Books etc. can be dropped off at Enquiry located in the front foyer of the hospital or at Receiving - located behind Emergency which is accessible off Sturgeon Rd. We are unable to provide pick up service. We thank you for your past support and contributions. All profits from the sale of these books etc. go to Patient Care at the Grace. .,

5/12 - 6/1 Costco's fundraiser in support of the Children's Foundation of Manitoba We are committed to running a successful campaign with a goal of raising up to $50,000 in one month to benefit the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. On Friday, May 9th, come down to get a delicious Krispy Kreme donut for Mother's Day and rose for Mom. On Saturday, May 10 meet Julie Hart, former wife of Bret Hart wrestling champion, who will be here for autographs. Julie an advocate of children's charities will be showing her support for the Foundation. From Monday May 12- 18 we have a Silent Auction with amazing prizes such as an autographed Canadiens puck by Saky Koivu, autographs from celebrities including Nickelback and Joan Rivers, Hot Air Balloon ride and much more! On Saturday May 17th and Saturday May 31st we have the Winnipeg Goldeyes here for autographs from 11am-1pm. All autographs by donation; come and meet your favorite player! Our big weekend is called Miracle Weekend and is on Saturday May 24 from 11am - 4pm and Sunday May 25 from 1pm- 4pm. Our warehouse will have the Winnipeg Fire Department down with their Fire Safety house, kids can get their photos taken by donation with firemen. We have clowns and face painting, balloons and other fun things planned. On Saturday May 31 to June 1st is our Grand Finale weekend with lots of activities. All donations collected for these various events go 100% to support the Manitoba Children's Hospital Foundation. All three Costco locations will be hosting these events. Various times,

5/22 Men's Club of the United Church in Meadowood The men's club of the United Church in Meadowood urge the public to attend an informational meeting and discussions on the subject-- "Lets Save Lake Winnipeg -Our Collective Responsibility". This presentation is in Co-operation of the Lake Winnipeg Stewardship Board, with the guest speaker being the well known Bill Barlow, Chairman of the Lake Winnipeg Water Stewardship Board. 5/24 Community Wheelchair Sports Event The Manitoba Wheelchair Sport Association along with TenTen Sinclair housing will be hosting a community wheelchair sports event encouraging Manitobans of all abilities to participate. 5/29 Westdale Community in Motion Join us for the "Westdale Community in Motion" walking activity organized by the school communities of Beaverlodge, Westdale and Westgrove schools and supported by the Pembina Trails School Division and Healthy Child Manitoba. 5/31 CancerCare Manitoba's Challenge for Life Evelyn Fey who is Captain of the Klaw'd Hoppers is participating in the Challenge for Life this September which is replacing the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. She needs your support. In order to partake in the 20km walk she needs to raise $1000. This is where you come in. To raise money and awareness for CancerCare Manitoba's Challenge for Life, there is a bakesale being held at the Garden City Shopping Center. Baking of any kind is welcome or donations to the cause. 5/31 - 6/1 Back Forty Festival The Back Forty Music Festival in association with Chautauqua Spirit and Cultural Capitals of Canada, is pleased to present an expanded multicultural program for 2008. This year the festival takes place Saturday May 31 and June 1 from noon till dusk in beautiful Morden Park, located an hour and a half from downtown Winnipeg on Highway #3 in Morden MB. It's two days of great folk, roots, country, blues, and bluegrass music by local and international artists, plus activities for the little ones, craft market, food and fun for the whole family! For the kids there are activities both days from 12 - 6, including drama games with Kids Act, face-painting, crafts and many "free penny carnival games". Food and beverages available on site. 6/1 Ride Roll & Stroll Fundraiser Join the Ride Roll & Stroll Fundraiser to help provide horseback riding to kids with disabilities. The Manitoba Riding for the Disabled Association MRDA) was founded in 1977, as a charitable non-profit volunteer organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding to kids with disabilities. 6/6 Slowpokes Fundraising Social The Slowpokes Slo-pitch team is participating for the second year in a row in the Battling Against Breast Cancer tournament. Last year the tournament raised $33,000 and they hope to surpass it this year. Each team entered is required to raise $1500 entry fee however the Slowpokes hope to exceed that and raise $4000.
